Since the departures of the former chair and vice chair of the PBA MEC, many new volunteers have stepped up to join the MEC, LECs, and committees to advocate for their colleagues. Another significant development has been the noticeable changes within Perimeter’s management team.

The current leadership of the pilot group, led by the MEC chair, Capt. Brandon Oberdorfer and vice chair, Capt. Dustin Bullis, is working diligently to achieve positive results following ongoing discussions with management. These conversations have taken on a more respectful and productive tone.

To effectively address persistent issues, the strengthened MEC can hold more frequent meetings with management. This proactive approach aims to resolve disagreements or misinterpretations of the collective agreement early in the process, thereby avoiding prolonged grievances. The goal is to ensure that the pilots’ five-year collective agreement is enforced properly for all pilots.

Additionally, the MEC leaders are dedicated to fostering pilot unity and contract awareness within the pilot group. Plans for regularly scheduled pilot unity-building events and educational sessions are underway, with the aim of helping pilots better understand their rights and obligations under the contract.
